Fishing Report from TPWD (May 15)

GOOD. Water clear; 76 degrees; 0.22 feet below pool. Stripers are fair to good in 30-70 feet of water. Live bait is still the most consistent way to put fish in the boat, but some can be caught trolling lures on downriggers. Good colors are white, chartreuse, and silver if you decide to troll. Sand bass are slow, use live shad or small slabs and jigs. White, and silver are good colors. You will definitely have to look for scattered fish in 10-20 feet of water. Catfish are good in 30-50 feet of water with cut shad. Water clarity is steady at 2-10 feet of visibility. The north end of the lake is extremely muddy. Report by TJ Ranft, Ranft Guide Service. Fishing conditions are the same with a few bass in shallow water but transitioning deeper. Bass are good on topwaters in the mornings, then using worms later in the day in 12-15 feet of water. Report by JK Outdoors Bass Fishing Guide Service.
