End of the Day

Life is good at PK! Here is a shot of a boat leaving the Hell's Gate Basin at the end of a fun day on the water.

You can find a lot more of my photos on my facebook page, Photography by Peggy Gibson. Each of my photos are for sale. I can print them or just sell you the jpg file. Possum Kingdom Lake has been home for the last 15 years and has been part of my life long before that. We moved to the lake from a life in the Air Force to help take care of the ranch and Gaines Bend in 1999. My husband and I are currently the owners/managers of Gaines Bend. Gaines Bend and the surrounding area has been in my husband's family since 1859. We raised our two daughters here and wake up every morning to a view of the most amazing lake in the state of Texas, Possum Kingdom Lake.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Jun. 22)

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 80-82 degrees; 1.46 feet low. Striper fishing is great, trolling with white and chartreuse spoons seems to be the best tactic, but live bait is working as well. Schooling action is slowing down. Sand bass are good with some brief schooling action biting on slabs and spoons in white. Catfish are fair on cut shad near the bottom. Visibility is 10 feet on the south end and two feet on the north end. Report by TJ Ranft, Ranft Guide Service.
